Hello,
I am stuck in Australia GP (career mode, difficulty: HARD) with a MF1 car and I can not find the optimum set up - my best times give me a #16 qualification slot (1:29:735). I tried the set up above but did not improve by much. I then tried the setp up above with a Renault in a single race mode and managed a best lap of 1:26:200 (same set up, controller, etc as yours). Any ideas?

Does anyone know at what point do you get a chance to drive a tier 2 car? I just started a career mode (HARD difficulty; 100% race distance) and the tier 3 cars do not really stand a chance against Tier 1 and it is extremely challenging to take the fight to the tier 2 cars and do so for 50-60 laps. I have previously won 5 championships (during each of the 5 years career mode) on MEDIUM difficulty, but now it seems hardly possible. I also ran a silly test in HARD career mode... 3 laps per race... I managed to win the championship title by a combination of decent qualifications times, phenomenal passes at the start of the race and absurdly aggressive defensive moves for 3 laps to prevent anyone from passing me. I won the title that way but my hopes were that I will be able to secure a tier 2 or even a tier 1 ride. That did not happen. I had opportunities to run test for the tier 1 and 2 teams, but I find those almost impossible to pass. Does anyone have any word of advice?
P.s. in terms of driving skills, I tested the Renault with the exact settings listed on this website and I was able to get 0.2-0.7 seconds faster times than the ones posted on a consistent basis ( normally over a test of 5-8 laps) on ALL tracks. |

I've just got seriously into this game today, what i have realised is that traction control is the most important set up aspect, you really need to have none to get the most power out of your car, traction control cuts fuel to the engine when their is any wheel spin, since i have did that it feels very realistic, i used to think it was too much of an arcade game but is it hell, well ive just been looking for information on formula one car set ups, I think there is too much negative rear camber on these set ups which is reducing power available to the rear wheels and traction control is way too high
ive not tried it out yet but i think making the suspension slightly stiffer than default by increasing the bump and rebound may be the way to get that little bit more out of the car, you dont touch the spring stiffness the other thing i found out is that if you lower your car then you need to increase the negative camber slightly to the front wheels, the general rule is that the rear camber should be as nuetral as possible. Front toe should ideally be nuetral unless you have exhausted all other options to increase the turn in of your car, then it should be slightly negative thats pointing inwards at front and positive at rear but i dont think you can touch the rear toe in this game, but the advice is to have it nuetral and only use it as a last resort

What race duration do you have to choose before the AI start to make more than one pit stop? I normally just race 20% but the AI ALWAYS do one stops.

hey not sure who posted the setups but thank you great help.
i just done a race in Monte Carlo Monaco with the mcclaren and my normal laptimes were late 1.13to early 1.14 now with ur setup i got into the 1.12. in qualifying i got 1.12.442 which was good very quik time which i noticed beat your time of 1.12.5?? then in the race on the final lap i had a even better lap but only slightly but also my 1st second was about a tenth off and the second sector was 3 tenths off so almost half a second then from out of no were i pulled a greatfinal sector not sure of the time as it was last lap but i got a 1.12.409 so if you think of it this way the first sector was about 18.5?? something like that and the middle sector was 55.6?? so the normal laptimes i get with the first 2 sectors like that is late 1.13.??? so to pull out the 1.12.409 was very good. anyone with quicker times for that track with the setup on this page please post and i will try and beat lol but be honest dont just post any laptime on here as i know it will be pretty much imposble to get any quckwer than a 1.12.3?? mabey a 1.12 flat if you get evry sector spot on with the perfect setup. also through out the race my front right wheel never went above 35 degrees or what evr the temp is on the game and as the laps went on the tyre got colder when i used a lower pressure setup i got all my tyres to go green with in 4 laps.

hey purewhiteangel
thanks for the setups, my lap time for montreal improved by over 2 seconds! ...i also wanted to beat your personal best which you posted :D my best lap time with the default setup was a 1:11.7xx after plenty of practice and many many laps i started knocking time of my personal best so my lap times look like this.... 1:11.130 1:10.798 1:10.483 at this stage i thought i could go just a bit faster because my sector times were as fast as ive had them before so i tried some more... then i pumped out this beauty 1:09.769 and followed that up with this screamer 1:09.686 ! i think i might be able to get another tenth out in a one of the sectors but it wont be easy, i think ive reached my limit....but we'll see... well thought id share this with ya thanks again! |

It's great to see a lot of folks are out there playing F1CE. I would like to ask a few questions:
1. N/m/s = ? 2. Are your times Q1,Q2,or Q3 times? Or the times listed best race times? 3. The Speed gear ratios are they your own or this is what the game set up is? 4. Brake bias has 3 settings, but it looks like your staying in one correct? 5. Is there a web site that will explain Bump Damp, Anti Roll, and F! car set ups?

hi, i have been using formula one ce and i have to say that is been wonderful experience, not better than GP4.
The best thing is the chalenge that comes from it to make the fastest la i can do 1.25.435 in Melbourne track, but i have one problem, when i try to brake really late on the corners, it seems that the gears jump and for a second, locks down as if there is no gear on, so this makes the car more difficult to brake, and i end up going to the grass. It is a night mare when you become to get scared of the corners because you never know when the gear is going to pop. i did try different gear ratios but the ones that don't pop, don't really work pretty well, can anyone help me with this, i am already three weeks trying to work this out. |

I've been using the setups in my career, and I've found that they are sluggish on the longer straights at Spain and Britain in particular. I do great through the corners but lose almost all I gain down the straights. It's not an issue with my line or exit of the previous corner because I start the straight faster. Is this a gearing issue or is it because I'm currently stuck driving for the less-than-competant MF1 team? If it is a gearing issue, what would you suggest for a change?
Answers are welcome from anyone but in particular purewhiteangel. |

I've heard some things on forums like if you type in a certain name, you will unlock extra things.
This is a link to a website with these cheats on it: http://www.gamewinners.com/playstation/Formula197.htm I was wondering if some of you could check it out and get back to me please. Thanks |
