Welcome to my site!! A briefveryedit:merryAChristmasmadandcatzaps3happyjoypadnewwill make you go quicker in F1 CE.yearI have managed to shave between 8tenths of a second to 1.5 seconds of my laptimes listed below using the same car setups as listed. You will achieve the quicker times on slow circuits such as Monte Carlo. The mad catz ps3 joypad allows you all!!to carry more speed through the corners than the standard supplied Sony SixaxiS joypad. I believe it is mainly due to a better analogue configuration of the left thumbstick which by default is used for steering. Anyways..................
Thank you for vour visit to my wiki wetpaint website. My wiki wetpaint website is devoted to helping all lovers of Formula One Championship Edition, which was released on Playstation 3 on the 27th of Feb 2007. This site is dedicated in helping you achieve some fast lap times which will make you competitive in "Hard" difficulty mode. I will be focusing on setting up the car to enable you to achieve some fast laps. All circuits require a distinct setup to get the best out of it. The setups that will be laid out for you will be good enough to put you on pole position for all of the races in "Hard" difficulty mode. The racing will be extremely competitive. You must stay focused and not break concentration till the end, much like the real world of Formula One. Please take time to check out all the site links which feature information about the specific car manufacturers. For your convience I have also included maps of all the circuits. I hope that you have as much fun using this site as I had creating it. Before we get started, here is some very important information for you to read...
One major flaw in the game occurs during "Career" mode: It will not allow you to save your data between practice, qualifying and race sessions. So in order to complete a Grand Prix under the criteria of full race distance, it may take up to 5 hours. I tend to use either Grand Prix weekend or World Championship modes which allow you to save as you progress. It was unfortunate that the game designers could not incorporate this into "Career" mode.
All car setups are designed to be competitive over the full race distance of a Grand Prix. They are designed to be very user friendly and very competitive. By following these car setups, the only buttons you will have to use (bar a pitstop) are accelerate, brake and steering. This provides a much more relaxed method of play. It helps newcomers and experts alike. Have fun.
1. My lap times are set using the Renualt Formula One Car. 2. My lap times are set using the default Playstation 3 Sixaxis Controller 3. My lap times are set using automatic gears. Manual gears using the Playstation 3 controller can be a very fiddly affair. Manual gears will make you go much quicker and so too will a good steering wheel. With manual gears and a good steering wheel I could take another 2 - 4 seconds of the times listed on this site but over the course of a long race, these settings will damage your engine. I would like to think that I have stumbled across, what has become a very competitive racer with little or no fuss for the user. The user can just focus on what is to be wheel to wheel competitive racing. My setups take into account the 100% race distance. My setups are designed for the full simulation package. I use the R2 trigger for accelerating and L2 trigger for braking. It is common to apply lots of camber for a fast lap, but over 22 laps your tyres would never survive. Therefore, I do not use short lived setups. 4. My lap times are set by using anti-lock braking. I feel that this is a more accurate representation of a powerful car that is a Formula one car. I have watched many Grand Prix's on a Sunday afternoon and know that all drivers are flat on the brake pedal with loads exceeding 90kgs. Without anti-lock braking, Formula one Championship Edition becomes a constant "wheel lockup" fest. It is due to the sensitivity of the rear mounted triggers. It is nigh on impossible to find the sensitive balance of the brake trigger, whereas the accelarator trigger functions perfectly. Using anti-lock brake settings actually help to make it more realistic. 5. Formula One is a sport which requires good hand to eye co-ordination and lightning reflexes. The same is true when using my car setups. You will have to get used to attacking the corners and braking late. Some of the times listed below are quite fast. Remember, use quick direction changes. All the times set out below are achieved by the car setup listed and also using the criteria listed out here. 6. If you have any questions, comments, or opinions feel free to post in the thread at the bottom of this site. I will do my utmost to reply to all. Thank you.

Formula One Championship Edition Car Setups
Times recorded are set on a dry track, if racing in the wet, change to wet tyres, increase downforce and reduce gear ratio settings. Refrain from using the "variable" weather option. It does not cater very well. It will not allow you to change wing settings during a pitstop. Extra wing is essential in the wet. I normally set the weather to either dry, light rain or wet. Variable simply does not function well. It renders you uncompetitive due to a bad flaw on behalf of the game designers. Please remember, these times will make "Hard" difficulty mode very competitive. These car setups will dominate "Easy" and "Medium" difficulty settings. They are only designed for "Hard" difficulty mode. For all of you Formula One Championship Edition speedfreaks who may claim that my times are not up to scratch, please remember, if I use manual gears and a steering wheel and set the car up to the maximum I can deliver times such as: Indianapolis: 1: 06: 121, Budapest: 1: 13: 932, Montreal: 1: 07: 545 etc, etc.
